Happy New Year - and thank you all for your support over Christmas

Alt

Thank you all so much for your support over Christmas and last year - we loved seeing our new fruit and veg extension in action and the feedback we have had from so many of you on the taste of our turkeys this year in particular has been great to hear - as a result, we have plans to breed even more turkeys this year and welcome any more suggestions for turkey recipes in 2012.

We hope that you all enjoyed the shop over Christmas and the food and gifts in your homes and wish you all a very happy and successful 2012...look forward to seeing you in it!

So for this new year we also thought that we should make some resolutions - and here are our top 3:

  • To supply even more fresh, seasonal and local produce than before - giving you the tastiest and best quality you can get
  • To keep smiling and provide you with Bury Lane service that goes that much further, whatever you need
  • To find even more delicious recipes and suggestions to enjoy this year

Burns Night on the way...we've got everything you need, from whisky to haggis

Alt

On January 25th it's Burns Night so, as with any great feasting opportunity, we've made sure we've got everything you need to make it special and delicious.

Come on in to try haggis from our butchers, potatoes and turnips from our fresh fruit and veg and our cheese of the month which is a Scottish Special.  It's called Cheese Gruth Dhu and is a beauty from the Scottish Highlands - a white, rennet-free soft and creamy cheese rolled in oatmeal and black peppercorns.  We're expanding our selection of whiskies as well, so why not try it with a glass (or two) of your favourite Single Malt?

Brave enough to face the cold? - Bury Lane fishing open with good catch reports

Alt

So, we know it's chilly but if you're ready to brave the cold then our lovely  fishing lake is the place to get some peace and fresh air.  We've had some good catch reports from the fishermen who lead us to believe the cold weather is worth it.

Day tickets are available in the shop and if you'd like us to help you with a picnic - a ploughman's or pie to take away, for example, with some hot soup and a coffee - then let us know and we'd love to warm you up with some tasty take aways from the coffee shop.

Great reductions in the Garden Shop this month

Alt

A wide selection of plants are reduced to clear this month - ideal for filling in the gaps or areas of the garden you don't know what to do with. Come in and see for yourself what bargains are to be had!

New for this season we also have vegetable and flower seeds arriving soon along with summer flowering bulbs ready for planting, onion sets and seed potatoes for some grow your own quality this year. And if you're looking for some winter colour then look no further than our selection of ready to plant winter shrubs for colour right now and some colourful interest as the weather stays grey.
